Thoba is a phenomenal teacher, communicator, and writer. He was essential in my graduate school process – he helped me not only with developing and crafting a narrative for my graduate school essays, but he also helped me on nailing the interviews. Alice has helped me tremendously, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have met her. During Black History Month, our school asked alumni to make themselves available for students to speak with them about their careers, and Alice offered to be one of those people. I read her profile and found her work in the finance industry to be really interesting, so I wanted to explore it further. I reached out to her and scheduled a call. During our first call, Alice talked me through the differences between sell-side and buy-side, giving examples like investment banking being sell-side and private equity being buy-side. On our second call, she explained the differences between investment banking and consulting and what each industry does. For our third call, Alice helped me prepare for fit interviews, sharing the dos and don'ts, which I leveraged to get into one of BCG's competitive programs, the BCG Bridge to Consulting. I am truly thankful for Alice's guidance and the significant impact she has had on my professional journey.
