After reading the bios of consultants, I decided to work with Emily and I’m very happy I did. I want to preface this with the fact that, while in my professional career I had found early success, my undergrad GPA and my GMAT scores were not the highest. So when I began my MBA application journey I had a wide range of schools I wanted to apply to, but also didn’t believe I would be able to get into my top choices. Emily immediately helped me focus on schools that matched what I wanted to do, was honest with schools she thought I couldn’t get into, but encouraged me to apply to schools that were more of a reach. From the start Emily was extremely helpful, she had me fill out an information form and we had an introductory phone call. From there we jumped into updating my resume into a more business school application-friendly format, completing a worksheet to help her have a better understanding of my exact goals, and filling out and sending a form to my recommenders (this was extremely helpful to send them when asking them). As I started my application process later than most, towards the end of Round 2, having Emily help me with where to start was extremely helpful. Emily was always readily available and worked with me on tight deadlines to go over drafts. The first drafts of my essays, if I’m being honest, were terrible looking back on them. Emily really taught me how to write application essays that were more detail oriented and focused on my goals. Emily had tons of tips on what to avoid in my essays and she helped me figure out what to focus on in my essays and how to exemplify my best characteristics. Emily was extremely honest with her feedback on my essays, which was really helpful. She gave me great examples of what successful applicants looked like, guided me on where to do my research, and encouraged me to reach out to current students and attend MBA events. Emily had great advice for me during the interview phases of my applications as well and was always free to quickly hop on a call if need be. I tended to have a lot of questions and Emily always got back to me in a reasonable time, even communicating with me if she needed additional time. I was admitted into all 5 schools I applied to (3 with partial scholarships, with the other 2 being reach schools). I can now say I am going to a dream choice program and Emily was a big part in helping me get there. If you are on the fence about using a consulting program, don’t know if it’s worth the money, or are just choosing which consultant to use, you won’t find a better consultant than Emily to help with your application process. She’s outstanding and a true professional.

During my search for a MBA admissions consultant a close friend of mine recommended Emily and I'm incredibly thankful he did. Emily's help throughout my application process was invaluable. Going into the process I was concerned that a consultant may try to fit me to a template and my experience with Emily proved those worries unfounded; early on she took the time necessary to learn my story and goals and used that information to prepare a strategy tailored uniquely to me. Furthermore, I was living in rural Southeast Asia throughout my time working with Emily and she helped make the necessary accommodations (e.g., time zone difference) to make things work smoothly. Starting my applications I struggled to find my voice and Emily's patience in helping me address the "big picture" aspects of my application meant a lot to the ultimate quality of my applications. Her assistance and advice were unwavering throughout the process, from my outlines to the small details of editing, revising, and submitting applications. I ultimately succeeded in being accepted to one of my target programs with a massive scholarship and I am thankful I found Emily to coach me throughout the process. I recommend hiring her for anyone taking their MBA applications seriously.

Emily was an invaluable resource for me during my MBA admissions journey. Emily has a very good handle on the business school admissions landscape and the right approach to take regarding essays, strategy, school selection, and the entire application roadmap. Emily helped me navigate a complex admissions process and gain admission to several top 20 schools in Round 3. Her dedication and individualized attention throughout the process was truly impressive, especially under a tight timeline - I felt like she was really in my corner and took a lot of time to get to know me, my story, and my goals....she helped me find my voice and submit strong, authentic applications that ultimately worked in my favor. I couldn't recommend working with her enough.

I had the privilege of working with Emily Lammers throughout my application process, and after receiving admission to my looong-shot dream school (CBS), I can't imagine having worked with anyone else. From day one it was clear that Emily was committed to my success, and further, that she was passionate about the process in general. We reviewed every relevant aspect of my pre-MBA life in depth to further understand strengths, weaknesses, motives, and anecdotes that would support my applications to top programs. From there we developed our application strategy. Emily's knowledge of the nuances of particular programs and their applications processes allowed me to put my best foot forward for each application and to know how to highlight aspects of my profile that each individual school looks for in applicants. I genuinely can't speak highly enough about Emily and her guidance throughout the process. She was available and enthusiastic about responding to e-mails or phone calls at any time, and the level of detail she provided in reviewing and analyzing my essays was far beyond what I expected. She is a straight shooter and completely candid when providing feedback, which is a necessity when it comes to this process. Emily's ability to provide structure and flow to your story helps your essays shine, and prepares you incredibly well for the interview process. Further, Emily goes way beyond her duties with primary research and oftentimes provided me with program information that was relevant to my career goals so that I could include it in my essays or interviews. Emily reads essays as though she is an AdCom member for each program, and provides highly specialized feedback. She was supportive when I felt overwhelmed, and pushed me when I was lazy. Lastly, Emily made this stressful process incredibly enjoyable and I oftentimes find myself missing the late nights of essay writing, frantic messages of concern, relief that comes with submitting the applications, and elation for interview invites and program acceptances. We ended up securing interviews with all of my programs (CBS, UCLA, NYU, DUKE) and received admission to CBS (we turned down UCLA, NYU, and DUKE interviews after hearing the news from CBS)....an investment well worth it no matter how you look at it. Emily is an absolute legend, and I credit her knowledge, guidance, and passion for the process with my admissions success. Do yourself a favor and go with Emily...you will not be disappointed.

Emily helped me tremendously with my MBA application. She was very responsive and very good at identifying my strengths and personal stories for the application essays. Because of her help, I received dean's scholarship, which is usually rare for a part-time MBA program.

I was aiming to apply for the Haas EWMBA program (my only desired program) on a tight timeline and was seeking an objective voice (that wasn’t friends or family) who had a lot of insight with regard to the admissions process and who also could truly understand me as a person. Emily was a perfect match! I felt Emily was very supportive, insightful, methodical, responsive, and truly wanted to partner with me. Emily also appreciated my unique background and saw that it was very valuable (like I did). I did a comprehensive package with Emily and she helped me keep on track even when I had a lot of work commitments come up and provided very thorough comments (with lots of great food for thought) so I could more effectively revise my essays and resume. Emily was also available for quick calls when needed, which was very helpful for some topics that are harder to explain via email. I also feel Emily’s encouragement was invaluable for me during this long, grueling process. I feel I could not have done it without Emily’s support and would highly recommend Emily to others. I did not know anyone in my circle that had used a consultant, but I now would tell everyone I know that having a consultant like Emily is invaluable!

Like a lot of people, I was on the fence about hiring a consultant, but I'm so glad he did because I truly don't know how I would have fared without Emily. Since I applied to mostly top 10 programs, I was concerned about my OK GPA and non-quant background. With Emily, I felt an immediate kinship. Amid the stress of the process, as well as the uncertainty of applying during the pandemic, she put me at ease and kept me abreast of insider admissions goings-on. As a writer herself, she was able to edit and fine-tune my overarching stories and essays. I have a strong verbal background, so I felt pretty confident in writing my essays, yet it soon became clear I needed someone to help speak AdComm’s language, while staying true to myself and my story. My resume also went through several rounds of edits -- I shudder to think I would have submitted my first draft in the absence of working with Emily! She was also super diligent. Although I know she has many other commitments in her personal life, as well as other clients, I felt like her main priority. She was quick to follow up with me, took a very proactive approach to our relationship, and kept me on track with deadlines. I ultimately applied to six programs (five of which are top 10 programs). I was invited to interview at five schools, accepted to three and waitlisted at one other.
