‘Genuine leader’ is the phrase that comes to mind when I think about Himmat. I had the pleasure of working with Himmat during his +2 years at LendingClub, partnering with him as an engineering manager on several projects. I was impressed by his ability to lead and build a cross-team collaboration culture. Connecting different areas/departments and helping all the parties to be aligned. His expertise was a huge advantage for LendingClub. He used his skills to evolve our product with a more data-driven approach. Himmat is very knowledgeable about our domain, helping the team to understand where we stand, what is the impact of our work, and what are the market trends. Himmat is not only committed to growing the business but also the people who work with him. He is extremely versatile and, from my personal experience, extremely driven as well. He led a variety of strategic projects including new products, user experience redesigns, comms, legal requirements, etc. Excelling at communication across different stakeholders.

"Leads by an example" would say it all about Himmat. I had the pleasure of collaborating with him on various projects in his 2+ years at LendingClub. He has exceptional leadership and analytical skills and has consistently demonstrated great work ethics. He is dedicated, methodical, data-driven and result-oriented. Collaborates with "one team mindset". During his tenure at LC, set examples for delivery of time-sensitive cross-functional projects with highest quality, brought alignment between all stakeholders for smooth execution. "Leaders don't create followers, they create more leaders". This truly fits Himmat in every sense. He empowers people to do their best in their respective fields. Himmat is truly a class-leading Product Manager and a corporate level asset for any firm lucky enough to have him on their staff. Himmat has the breadth and capacity to set a broad and comprehensive vision, influence and align all requisite cross-functional resources, all while delivering with precision, creativity, and outsized impact for the customer and the company. Himmat played a crucial leadership role in my organization in optimizing our core Personal Loan product. These efforts accounted for almost 5% of LC's revenue in 2019 alone underpinned by a new-to-LendingClub high-speed experimentation platform/program. This leadership was recognized at all levels of LendingClub via his monthly updates to the executive staff. Personally, I have worked very closely with Himmat and his ethic and capacity are beyond reproach. I hope to have the privilege to work with him again in the future. It is a real pleasure to write about Himmat, who was one of the top managers I have ever worked with. I reported directly to him during a significant portion of my time as a product manager at LendingClub. Himmat enhances the paths of those he comes into contact with; I am fortunate to say that I was but one of many to experience that personal impact. I believe Himmat’s greatest strength as a leader lies in his ability to communicate effectively and authentically empower those around him to reach collective outcomes. In meetings, he talks only when he needs to, asking a few well-placed questions and showcasing each participant’s expertise. He deftly responds to dynamics in the room by addressing concerns with an emotionally attuned touch. This framework maximizes the creative output of the team, which leads to a solution superior to anything he could have produced alone. As a team leader, Himmat leads by listening and teaching. He knows when to set direction and how to inspire. He knows when to say no, when to propel and when to delegate. It is these qualities that enabled him to define and ultimately own large-scale cross functional initiatives at the company with such success. Himmat can evangelize product strategy with a diverse set of stakeholders, and subsequently take charge as an operator, because his partners feel that their opinions on the overarching mission matter and that their strengths are properly drawn on. They know that their talents are in good hands. As my manager, Himmat similarly strived to invest in my development and amplify my contributions. He spent a significant amount of his time working with me to identify my long-term professional goals, while also helping me develop muscle in my day-to-day operations as a product manager. Himmat was an exceptional teacher when it came to the more technical aspects of the job. In addition to teaching me theory on design principles, statistical analysis, and business modeling, he also passed on frameworks related to program management and decision-making that still inform my actions today. Himmat helped me grow my skillset as a product manager, but perhaps more importantly, he also created an ideal environment for me to thrive in. He curated a work roadmap for me that deliberately took my development goals into account, so I felt that my tasks were propelling me forward in my career. And he ensured that I always felt challenged, holding me and the teams I led accountable for outcomes. However, unlike most managers, he also held himself accountable for my success, and conveyed a sense of responsibility for my failures, which provided me a real sense of support, and inspired me to bring my best every day on the job. Himmat is a leader possessing a strong moral compass, clarity of purpose, and a warm, authentic disposition that is infectious. I am lucky to be able to call him a mentor and friend.
