Throughout my time in undergraduate at UVA, Manish has been both a great friend and wise mentor to me. I arrived at UVA from out of state, and as a first-generation student, and Manish, as my Residential Advisor at the time, had a key role in ensuring I had a rewarding and impactful experience as I navigated my professional, academic, and personal goals throughout college. From helping connect me with student leaders in organizations I was interested in joining to making sure I spent adequate time studying and taking care of myself, Manish has shown excellence through his compassion, kindness, advisory, and leadership. Despite his busy schedules, he always made time to help others including me and many of my peers. Even after graduating, he continues to give back to UVA and offers support whenever he can, and we regularly talk whenever I need help with whatever is going on in my life. I’m now going into my fourth and final year of undergraduate, and I hope to be as good a mentor and friend to others as Manish, an ambitious and caring leader in whatever community he finds himself in. I, and I’m sure many others can as well, vouch for Manish and the value that he has brought and continues to bring into our lives.

Last semester, Chris worked with me on drafting my personal statement for law school. Unsurprisingly for such an accomplished student and writer, Chris approached the task with inimitable initiative and professionalism; in our first meeting, he spent twice our allotted time making sure that he gathered an authentic and complete understanding of my literary voice. He is generous with his time, talents, and convictions, molding his feedback to best fit the student with whom he is working. Chris allows people to trust him and feel secure in his presence. He approaches challenging conversations—particularly those regarding personal emotions and relationships—with ease and care. Beyond the initial coaching session, Chris made sure to follow up with me to make sure I felt fully supported by him throughout my application process. In this way, he represents what is best in an academic: not solely a rigorous commitment to learning and teaching, but also a personable and constructive intellectual curiosity that fosters a healthy, energized class culture. I am so grateful to consider Chris not only a tremendous writing coach, but also a dear friend.

Allie was such an authentic leader and mentor to me at Deloitte, helping me navigate the professional environment (which wasn’t so easy!) Within our team, she built an environment of trust and honest feedback, and made it easy to discuss career goals and strategize how to help me get where I wanted to be. She supported me in my aim to go to graduate school and wrote a detailed and thoughtful letter of recommendation. I am grateful for the leadership and support I received from Allie. She’s a gem!

As a consultant who worked 60-80 hours a week and didn’t have time to visit every top business school, I was thankful to have a coach and friend like Sue who guided me through the MBA application process. She shared tips on what worked for her and unique aspects of the different M7s. She helped me realize choosing the right school fit was more important than the layman’s “perception” of brands. Happy to say that I landed at my school of choice and one that was the right for me!

I was initially hesitant to work with an admissions consultant while applying to MBA programs, but after a quick coffee with Albert, my perspective completely changed. Looking back now, after being admitted to Kellogg, Columbia, Booth, and NYU Stern, and receiving several merit-based scholarships, I’m convinced that this outcome would not have been possible without Albert’s guidance. Beyond stronger applications and results, he gave me clarity, structure, and confidence throughout the entire process. I truly can’t recommend him enough.

Logan has been a consistent source of guidance and leadership since I met him many years ago. Whenever I face difficult decisions, I turn to him knowing he will ask the right questions and provide the insight I need to make sound choices. He also has a unique ability to offer constructive criticism in a way that leaves you feeling supported and empowered.
